The Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation is providing financial support to the LMU University Library in 2026 for the acquisition of scholarly literature.
The Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation is once again providing financial support to the LMU University Library in 2026 for the acquisition of scholarly literature. For the one-year period beginning on 1 October 2026, a total of €700,000 will be made available, of which €500,000 is allocated to all academic disciplines at LMU and €200,000 specifically to the philological disciplines.
The funding will be used exclusively for the acquisition of printed monographs and textbooks. Books acquired through this funding can be identified by an ex libris label on the inside front cover bearing the logo of the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation.Through this support, the Foundation makes a significant contribution to providing LMU students and researchers with the scholarly literature required for teaching and research.
This renewed funding continues the Foundation's longstanding commitment to academic libraries. As an independent institution dedicated to the advancement of science and scholarship, the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation has supported university and research libraries throughout Germany for many years, contributing substantially to the development and expansion of their collections.
